One of my favorite things to photograph are surprise beach proposals!! Each proposal that I have had the pleasure of photographing has been so full of love, excitement and laughter. But as fun as they are, so many things can go wrong. What if she finds the ring ealy? Or worse, what if you forget to pack it?  What if you propose before your photographer is ready? Or you go to the wrong meeting spot? Now, before you start to panic, let me give you a few tips on how to ensure that your Oahu proposal is everything that you hope it will be!

Three things to remember when planning your Oahu surprise proposal photoshoot:

Talk to your photographer!

And not just over email! To make sure that my soon-to-be fiances know exactly what to expect, I meet with each one of the over zoom. (Virtual) face to face communication is key to make sure that everyone understands the plan and that all questions can be answered.

Make a “I’m 30 seconds away from proposing” signal with your photographer.

For my clients, it is usually just taking a selfie! When I see that selfie camera going, I get into position, knowing exactly what is coming next.

Prepare your words.

Even though your partner probably won’t remember them. Keep it short, simple and full of love, because you know she can’t wait to put that ring on!
