Some of my favorite moments of Kimmy and Jeremy’s Queen Kapiolani Hotel wedding day happened before the ceremony even started. Now, don’t get me wrong, their entire day was full of beautiful moments!! But when I walked into Kimmy’s getting ready room, I was met with a tidy, organized space, bridesmaids in matching pjs, ready to have their photos taken and a calm atmosphere. No stress at all! Kimmy was happy and everyone in the room was ready to support her and help her have a smooth and perfect wedding day! This allowed me to jump right into the details, capturing some beautiful moments as Kimmy finished getting ready.

Three things to make your wedding detail shots work:

1. Be 95% ready by the time your photographer arrives.

When I walked into Kimmy’s getting ready room, everyone’s makeup was done, they were in their matching pjs, their dresses were hanging ready to go.

2. Put all of your details together in a box.

The rings, invitation suite, vow books, perfume, other jewelry, and anything else you want in the detailed photos should be together so that you don’t have to go searching for things when your photographer arrives!

3. Make sure you have already decided who will help you put on your dress and veil

When the time comes to put on your dress, make sure that you have already decided who will be helping! This will ensure that everyone is where they need to be, when they need to be there and you don’t have to stress about it! And don’t forget to tell your groom to do the same with his jacket!
